Our Mission Statement
The Bethlehem Inn is a community-supported emergency shelter committed to providing a safe, secure and accountable environment for residents to connect to community resources. Our goal is to support residents in making life-affirming choices and measurable progress towards self-sufficiency.
What we do:
- The Bethlehem Inn offers shelter, meals, and clothing to our most vulnerable community members in their time of need.
- Our goal is to support residents in making life-affirming choices and measurable progress towards self-sufficiency.
- Our entire staff offers case management for our residents and advocacy for those experiencing homelessness.
Who we serve:
- We offer immediate housing to families and single adults in need of shelter. We are able to house up to 74 single adults and 5 families.
- Our single adult residents range in age from 18 to mid-eighties.
- Results of a interview-based homeless count performed at the Inn on January 29, 2009:
o 17% of our single adult residents are veterans
o 29.8% of our single adult residents have physical disabilities
o 12.8% of our single adult residents have developmental disabilities
o 42.6% of our single adult residents have mental or emotional health concerns
